A stunningly beautiful route that you can easily plan a whole day for. The route is moderately gravel, with a bit more gravel in the hairpin bends. The track is relatively wide and leads through forest. Its features include many hairpin bends, straight sections along the slope, and lots and lots of panoramic views. You pass a (deserted) picnic area set up in the dense coniferous forest by a small stream (a great place for a snack). The highlight of the route, however, is the O Sel Ling Buddhist center, dedicated to the practice of meditation in solitude. From the viewing point in the center, you can see snow-capped peaks and the white villages of the Alpujarra. A beautifully landscaped path leads uphill past small temples and statues. There are benches everywhere to rest and relax. It is a place not just for Buddhists, but for anyone who wants to experience peace and quiet.
