This route consists of two gravel sections, neither of which should be missed. The first section involves climbing uphill on a dilapidated paved road, leading to a first viewpoint. Continuing towards the mountains, you'll pass a picnic area that is now in a state of disrepair. From here, a moderately gravelled track descends to the source of the Andarax River. A tourist complex with a restaurant and a marked hiking trail has sprung up around the spring, a popular destination for locals in the summer. It's worth taking some time to explore this area. The connection to the second gravel section is via a short stretch of paved road through the charming village of Laujar de Andarax. The second section of the route climbs steeply uphill on a winding track along the edge of the Sierra Nevada National Park. You'll reach an altitude of approximately 1900 meters, and in winter (January/February), the track may be covered with fresh snow or snow remnants. The trump card of this second part is the chamois and ibex, the remains of an abandoned mine and the wide panoramic views.
