Route description
Today we're traveling along the 4,000-meter mountains. One of the most beautiful routes in Morocco. This route is perfect for a day trip. The track is in very good condition, unless... you come at Christmas and it's been raining or snowing. The gravel but good road takes us up to 2,600 meters. |

From Ouarzazate, we drive along the paved road toward Marrakech and after a few kilometers, turn south. In a village, we turn onto a gravel track. The route leads through a steppe, then up a small pass. Past a small village where the women are washing their laundry by the river, the road winds its way toward the snow-capped 4,000-meter mountains.
|
We arrive again at a small village surrounded by a green oasis in this barren landscape. After the village, we climb a snow-covered 2600-meter pass (there will also be snow here on December 30th). We cross the first pass. Our motorcycle gains 10 kilos in weight as it pulls on all the soft mud. |

We continue south along the trail, following the GPS data. At another small village, we turn left and continue over smaller passes until we reach the paved road again. From there, we start the journey back to our campsite in Quarzazarte. |
