During the holiday season, things get incredibly busy here. Tourists arrive from all directions; right at the entrance, there is a large motorcycle parking area staffed by attendants, though you can also ride your motorcycle directly up into the town itself (as described in the tour guide). From here, you can also catch the ferry to Sardinia—the crossing takes about an hour. We walk along the town walls toward the city center, where you will find plenty of small shops, cafés, and restaurants.

However, the most wonderful thing about this fortress complex is strolling through its narrow streets and alleys. Numerous souvenir shops and restaurants line the streets. Every now and then, you should pause at one of the viewpoints to gaze down at the turquoise-blue sea—or descend the 187 steps of the "Escalier du Roi d'Aragon"!

The journey continues along a stretch of the coastal road, offering magnificent views of Bonifacio. On clear days, the island of Sardinia is clearly visible. There is also an old fortress complex with cannon towers to explore here; those willing to walk a short distance can visit a lighthouse.
